Yep, I’ve finally done it. I’ve written Baby J’s birth story.
I’d been putting it off. No time. No energy. Stupid excuses. Truth is, it brings up so many emotions. Difficult and terrifying emotions. It was almost like experiencing it all over again.
It’s taken days! But I also found it therapeutic. And discovered there was some healing and beauty mixed in too.
I have a friend who lives around the corner, who on the same day that Baby J was born, 14 hours later, with the same midwife, gave birth to her baby at home. On our baby’s 4 month ‘birthday’ (a few days ago) she shared her baby girl’s beautiful birth story. This inspired me and motivated me to finally write mine too. I also have her to thank for the following idea, which I’ve sought permission to copy.
I’d love to share J’s birth story. It’s written in a separate, private blog. Simply because it’s a sacred and personal thing that I don’t want the entire world to troll through.
If you’re not into birth stories, home births, breastfeeding, or get offended by the use of words like contractions and placenta, then perhaps it isn’t for you. However, if you would like to read my account, I will send you an invitation.
